Changing campus cultures, organizational cultures, and bringing people together through difficult and necessary dialogue can be a stressful process; however, with the right tools and strategies, it can be a rewarding process. I bring together my 10+ years of experience in working with professionals, college students, faculty, and nonprofit organizations to better understand how the world around us shapes our everyday experiences. Specifically, I work with partners in strengthening their training programs around work skills, leadership development, policy creation with the goal of making a more inclusive contexts and environments through which we live, work, and play.

Services

  • Workshops | Trainings | Teaching/Guest Lectures

    • I have a variety of pre-established workshops and trainings available that I am happy to facilitate. I am also willing to develop a custom training for your campus or organizational need. Additionally I am available for guest lectures into classrooms and seminars (either physically on campus or through digital platforms).

      • An example workshop:

        • Inclusive By Design - This workshop was designed to help an established group (student organization, department staff, leadership team etc) foster more inclusive organizational and team contexts. Through videos/media, interactive activities, and group dialogue we will explore how our social identities color our perspectives; and we will unpack the difference between safe spaces and brave spaces. Finally, I will show how your team/campus/organization can use the rich diversity of your group as a catalyst to advance your work. I will leave you with concrete and tested strategies to facilitate more equitable and just practices for your work.

  • Keynote Address

    • I have relevant experience delivering engaging, informative and timely keynotes on a variety of equity and justice topics. Including during campus heritage and awareness month recognitions and celebrations such as: Black History Month/United Black World Month, Sexual Violence Awareness Month, Women’s History Month etc. I will work with you on a topic of mutual interest for a timeframe of 60-90 minutes. As available by the keynote location capabilities, I often incorporate media/pop culture references, and live-performance into the keynote.

      • A recent keynote I delivered was at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee during their Sexual Assault Awareness Month programming. My keynote was titled: #MeToo: What About Us? - In the Margins of the Margins of Sexual Violence. My keynote included a presentation and then small roundtable discussions with attendees about who is often left out of the campus sexual violence discourse, why it happens, and what we can do about it.

      • Be sure to visit the Testimonials page and read Dr. Lacy’s message about her experience with my keynote delivery!

    • I can assist with your assessment/evaluation projects related to a number of campus based equity and justice issues. I will work with you to create a custom assessment that fit your specific needs and outcomes. I primarily use qualitative or mixed-method methodologies (including survey implementations, focus groups, interviews etc). I can help you through your strategic planning, mission and visioning process and provide clear and measurable goals/actions plans.

      • A recent consultation I performed was with Davidson College where I conducted a program evaluation for a peer-mentoring program for students of color on campus. My consultation included a three-phase evaluation including survey implementation, individual stakeholder interviews, on-campus focus groups, and a final report with findings, implications and recommendations.
